26 February 2011: that's just me being silly with Harvey's shoes. If you look closely at my knee you'll see a bruise caused by repeating the "Fire Up" pole move. Being sexy is tough!

A weekend full of WTF movies

25 February 2011: This weekend has been full of WTF ("what-the-fuck") movies... Black Swan, Vicky Christina Barcelona and The Boondock Saints. Quite enjoyed them though... As for the hot chick kissing scenes, Scarlet J and Penelope C wins hands down.

There's always a rainbow at the end

24 February 2011: Okay I know I'm not supposed to be taking pics with my phone while I'm driving but I had to capture this beautiful rainbow in the sky! This pic doesn't even do it justice. It's been a bit of an emotional day for me - my mom went for an operation on her hand - they had to remove a nerve. Sounds painful! But even though she had to endure the pain, she will be healed. The same way this rainbow signifies the end and the beginning of amazing things.

The songwriting process

23 February 2011: This is our first official songwriting session, working towards a 12-track album. Must say I really enjoyed the process and brainstorming while hitting the record button is quite a rush. Wish you could hear what we came up with so far, but you'll just have to wait!

Curly Sue

23 February 2011: Since I'm using new shampoo, I have to wash my hair every second day. That means I have to come up with solutions to do my hair without doing much heat styling. That's my natural curls there - used a curling iron to tame it up a bit though, but it looks pretty good!

Metrofail, delayed as usual

22 February 2011: So I had some drama regarding my car. Took it for an assessment at Cape City Volkswagen - had issues with my wipers (they were slow, for some odd reason - Harvey thought it was hilarious, but I beg to differ) and I have this grinding noise under my car in the front (most-likely my brakes). Anyhoo they quoted me R8500 for everything! Jeepers! I decided to take my car to Wilko Motors in Brackenfell for a second opinion, and thank goodness I did, because the nice old man that runs the place assured me there was nothing wrong with my car, I just needed new brakes. His quote came to R1149. What a save! At that point I mentally zap signed Cape City Volkswagen and agreed I'm never taking my car down to those tossers again!

I'm pretty sure it was Karma biting me in the arse (for mentally zap signing people) - I had to get a lift to the station with Arlene to get to work. I got to work and when Wilko phoned me with the news that nothing was wrong with my car I was overjoyed and thought, hey - finally someone who doesn't wanna bullshit me!

Long story short - I forgot to give Wilko my locknut. So I had to take a half day leave and rush to the train station to make the 13:08 train to Brackenfell. I asked almost every person working at Metrofail to confirm whether the train was leaving at that time and NOBODY could help me! The staff at Metrofail is useless and incompetent. I went twice to the info desk - the first time a gentlemen there assured me it will be on time. 30 mins later, still no train, went to the info desk again! The lady there confirms that the train already left! Argh! I have been there almost 20 mins before 13:08, there was NO TRAIN!

So after cursing under my breath I ended up walking to the taxi rank (nasty) take 2 taxis down to Brackenfell, nearly got knocked over by a truck because the second taxi decided to drop me off on an island in the middle of the road. Had to walk all the way from my drop-off point to the workshop where I waited while they doctored up my car.

Now I'm broke. Thank goodness payday is on Friday! Wow, this turned out to be my longest post yet! Hmm, maybe I just needed to vent.

China Town

19 February 2011: Went shopping with my mom and sis for the first time in months. We decided to head on to China Town in Sable Square, Century City. Found some great dresses and generally had loads of girlie fun.

Dad's birthday dinner

17 February 2011: Had a nice birthday dinner for my dad with the familia. 51 years old! 9 more years and then it's retirement. What an exciting, yet scary, thought.

Acoustics

13 February 2011: That's me opening for Jesse Jordan Band at the Taalmonument & Museum in Paarl. It couldn't have been a more gorgeous day. Wes and I rehearsed inside the monument, and I have to say the acoustics is simply AMAZING! If it weren't for the waterfall, we could possibly record my whole album in there.

13 February 2011: This is definitely a first for us... finally being inside the Taalmonument. There's a hole right up at the tip and at some point during the day, the sun shines directly through it. Breathtaking!

07 February 2011: Look what I discovered at Cape Quarter Spar... KitKat - WHITE chocolate! Woweeeeeeeeee! So exciting because I'm on a caffeine-free buzz, and white chocolate doesn't have caffeine in it :)

Sushi picnic with some unwanted visitors

06 February 2011: After the Mazda breakfast run, we decided to get some sushi for lunch at Cape Quarter Spar and have a picnic on the grass in Sea Point Pavilion. It was blissful until some unwanted visitors (sea gulls) started gathering around, fighting each other to make sure they get our leftovers - which would have been Wasabi if it wasn't for our belief in karma. Shame.

Mazda breakfast run

06 February 2011: On Sunday morning we had our first ever Mazda breakfast run around the Peninsula. It was exciting to see 6 or 7 Astinas altogether - along with some other zoopedup brands of Maza, of course! This here was our first official stop on the mountain just past Simonstown. It was particularly epic, because Harvey generally doesn't do cars or Southern Subs :P *cough ahem cough* "hypocrite" (only kidding - please don't kill me).

05 February 2011: Yes I sat on a fake horse merry-go-round thingy in a short denim skirt at Bugz play park. Harvey and I took Kylie out for a day of childish fun! And oh what fun it was :) That's them sitting on the horse in front of me. Good times. Tilt your head to the right, it'll make more sense.
